AI Engineering Intern

About the role

Work alongside our engineering team on the AI features that sit inside our products — from retrieval pipelines and prompt design to evaluating how well a model actually performs on real user data. This is a hands-on internship: you will ship things that customers use, not run side experiments that get shelved.

About the team

You will sit inside the core Engineering team, working directly with the two senior engineers who own our AI features.

What you'll do

• Build and refine LLM-backed features: retrieval, prompting, tool use and structured output
• Create evaluation sets and measure quality so we can tell whether a change helped
• Turn research ideas into production code with the engineers who own the service
• Investigate failure cases and propose fixes with evidence behind them

What we're looking for

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science or a related field
• Comfortable writing Python, and able to read code you did not write
• Working understanding of how modern language models behave, including their limits
• Bonus: exposure to PyTorch, embeddings and vector search, or any project you shipped end to end
• Most important: curiosity and the habit of verifying claims instead of assuming
